Our Commitment to a Safe Workplace

West Shore Constructors Limited is committed to promoting a safe and healthy workplace and environment for its employees and to establishing and maintaining safe working practices through proper procedures and direction. Safety is paramount in all of our endeavors. Accountability for safety belongs to all levels of management, supervision, and each and every employee. Working safely is a condition of employment.

Senior Management

It is the responsibility of Senior Management to establish and maintain adequate standards, policies, procedures, work practices and maintenance of buildings and equipment to provide a safe working environment, to ensure that their managers and supervisors are adequately trained and instructed in safe working practices, and to implement and promote an effective Occupational Health & Safety Program (OHSP).

Managers & Supervisors

It is the responsibility of managers and supervisors to ensure that employees are instructed and trained in proper safe work procedures and comply with West Shore Constructors Limited’s OHSP. Managers and supervisors will execute the OHSP including its procedures, inspections, and meetings. They will be knowledgeable with applicable regulations, report to Senior Management any real or potential safety or health hazards and conduct effective accident investigations. Through their exemplary behavior, managers and supervisors will promote and enforce a culture of safety.

Employees

It is the responsibility of every employee to read and be knowledgeable of the OHSP, to know and follow established standards, policies, procedures, and work practices, to follow all applicable safety regulations, and immediately report any unsafe working condition, act, incident, or accident to their supervisor.

Health & Safety Committee Members

It is the responsibility of Committee members to promote safe work practices and conditions and to assist in creating a safe place of work by recommending actions which will improve the effectiveness of the OHSP.
